FAQs

Why is there a skunky smell coming from under my house?

Many people believe that a smell coming from the house is a skunk. Many times this awful smell is because of a skunk but could be an opossum living under your house or digging along a garden, shed or pool. We suggest that you keep all of your garbage in containers with animal proof lids, clean up all debris, garbage or anything that may be laying around your yard as it is a haven for wildlife. We also like to suggest that homeowners keep any animals inside or monitored when they are outside, to lessen the opportunity to have a dangerous interaction with a potential skunk, opossum or raccoon.

Bob’s Animal Removal can consult with you about setting a humane trap and removal the animal. This service also includes a preventative consultation, to ensure others animals don’t become a nuisance in the future.

Is there anything I can do to prevent damage from wildlife to my house?

Continuous maintenance of your residential or commercial property will help to ensure that wild animals do not become a nuisance. Home owners and property owners who continually inspect their property for any potential damages can assist in deterring animals from causing property damage. Once a problem area is identified, please contact Bob’s Animal Removal immediately!

The soffit along my roof has been pushed down, is it a mouse?

Typically soffit is pushed down by squirrels or raccoons that are gaining entry into your attic. Sometimes mice can make noises from running around but if there is exterior damage from plain view it is typically raccoons or squirrels. Raccoon and squirrels can keep home owners up during the night as well as, chewing electrical wires and leaving dangerous and toxic fecal matter throughout the insulation in your attic. We suggest you call a licensed animal trapper to humanely catch and remove the animal. Bob’s Animal Removal will happily catch and remove the animal while offering a FREE quote on repairs to the damage that the animals have caused to your home.

Should I try to catch a wild animal in my house by myself?

All wildlife can transmit various harmful diseases such as rabies, distemper, equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM) to yourself and pets when bitten by a wild animal. These potential deadly viruses from wildlife can be spread through dishes and bowls used by domesticated animals such as dogs and cats. We encourage homeowners not to remove the wild animal, but to call Bob’s Animal Removal.
